What Lessons Will Be Learned? Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

What Lessons Will Be Learned?

'Well...
That depends on if the lessons taught are liked.
And if the ones doing the teaching,
Do not offend those who take offense...
If those lessons to be learned,
Are comprehended to be understood.'

But...
They are repeatedly the same lessons.

'And...
What lessons will be learned,
That will prevent the increase of mental illness? '

Well...
That depends on if the lessons taught are liked.
And if the ones doing the teaching,
Do not offend those who take offense...
If those lessons to be learned,
Are comprehended to be understood.

'But...
They are repeatedly the same lessons.'

Perhaps we are in need of more magicians?

'Those positions are already being taken in droves,
By those 'disguising' themselves as economists.'

WHERE is the 'reality' and the truth of anything these days?

'Those are lessons many refuse to accept.
They infringe upon the ones,
Who wish to keep their delusions,
Kept to isolate from everyone.
And like you...
They seek 'reality' and truth magically sweetened.
Or distanced.'

We are creating a new epidemic.

'Don't worry about it.
By next Spring it will be given a name.
And shots to take to alleviate the effects,
Will be announced.
Stay tuned to your favorite TV channels.'
