As my mother many times had said
Lead and do not be led,
Mix with people who will fit in your future
No person needs a moocher.
The past has already came and left
Yesterday is where we leave our bereft,
It is now part of our history
Left there with the people who brought us misery.
My mom always said to me
Try to live a better and helpful life for all to see,
Don't be tricked and don't be used
Whenever or wherever you go don't be confused.
Find friends who will help and inspire
Those who you and others admire,
Towards joy and inner peace head toward
Be with those who force you to move forward.
You are better than any man or woman which is true
And no man or woman are any better than you,
A truth in me those words would always evoke
Those are the words that my mother had spoke.
