My eyes lazily rest upon your face
As I remember the extinct intoxicating embrace
And hugs upon the prime of affection;
They dart with measured speed
And dwell upon your breast,
And further below proceed.
Within a moment of trance I survey
The pearl I once owned not more than a fortnight;
A priceless possession whose right
I can never dream to own some day.
Say what transgression did I,
And swift and clear before I die!
Let it be forgiven me my foolish offence
For before your fierce love I lack defense!
