Whatever It Is You Are Doing Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Whatever It Is You Are Doing

You will know when you have discovered,
Something for you that you were meant to do...
When the doing of it is done with such devoted passion,
That it becomes something you 'must' do...
Before you can do anything else.

And if you find yourself asking questions,
From others...
To evaluate that which you've done,
Whatever it is you are doing...
To become discouraged,
If a response does not please...
Whatever it is you are seeking to appease another,
Is not for you.

It is your ego that seeks approval.
And you only 'think' a nod and a wink,
Is all that it takes.
But...
In your gut,
You don't 'feel' it!
