When A War Gets Started Poem by Dorsey Baker

When A War Gets Started

When a war gets started
Nobody knows
How many bombs
Will fall
How many bullets
Will fly
How many get wounded
How many people
Will have to die
When a war gets started
Nobody knows
How long it will last

We don't know the future
And it seems like
We have learned
Nothing from the past

When a war gets started
It brings
Nothing but pain and misery
When a war gets started
Death and destruction
Such a bloody
Sight to see
War is never wanted
Because
War is so very ugly!

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

War offers nothing but spilt blood and torn flesh and the bereaved, in uncountable numbers. Top score dear poet.
