! When All Is Said And Done !
Is this what life is all about?
All there is to know...
I can't believe I've come this far
And still so far to go;
I haven't scratched the surface
Barely scribbled on the page,
And here I am about to end -
It puts me in a rage!
We need an expiration date
To keep us to the task
Of reaching goals significant
To answer what we ask;
It's all so very puzzling
This living that we do,
I need my own identity
But also, I need you!
So what's the actual purpose
Of my life experience?
To keep my thoughts in motion
While I'm sitting on this fence?
I wish I had the energy
To finish up with flair,
When all is said and done I guess....................
You wager what you dare.

Excellent work, here, Midnight....None of us will leave this world, in accomplishment, of all we could have amassed....Time and Situation are our nemesis, when it comes to being all we can be...We are never too old to change direction, and seek out new avenues of potential contentment. Your writing skills, alone should speak to you, as accomplishing something that 97% of the worls has not....You are a bnonifide writer...and that's a gifted title...AND YOU...OLD? Wow! I just discovered a fellow Utahn on this website! This is very well written. Why did FJR call you Midnight? Did you formerly publish your poems under that pseudonym?
hello ma'am! ! ! 'So what's the actual purpose Of my life experience? This is such a truthful poem, Linda. And I agree that we should have an expiration date so we can fulfill our goals and dreams and expectations. you are so right in saying... When all is said and done I guess.................... You wager what you dare. We all wager our days away thinking that tomorrow will let us see the light and completion of everything we have ever hoped for. But life goes on whether we have fulfilled our dreams, goals, and expectations or not. You get a 10 Linda because this hits each of us where we live. Thank you for sharing. Hugs, Barbara
