Tumultuous waves crash inside
Wallowing in pain wasting away in the tide
When did I let myself go?
I used to be a lover of poetry
Doting on words as if they were my deity.
Now I just sit and stare
Panting in despair
They say these are growing pains
But why do they feel like stains
Leaving scars of lessons
And a field of questions
Little black bird has lost her spark
Walking around in the dark.
Bleeding out
Laying in a pool of doubt
When did I let myself go?
