When I am asleep
In the early hours of the day
I miss the serenity of the dawn
And dew drops simmering on stacks of hay
When I am asleep
Waiting for the sun to rise
I miss your voice; its sweetness
Throws the birds and bees into surprise
When I am asleep
Feeling lazy in the wee hours
I miss small creatures frolicking
Around and hoping from bower to bower
When I am asleep
Waiting for the world to glow
I will miss the cool wind to caress
Me that comes into my room soft and slow
