When I Am Gone (1) Poem by Kingsley Egbukole

When I Am Gone (1)

Rating: 5.0

Dear Poet Friends

When I breathe no more
This life so vain is gone
Many will say many things
Both true and false to please
These to naught amount
I take no pleasure in them
Though unaware of them I am

But for you poet friend
That chance to come around
To the nothings listen not
And if possible with you
To have access to my wordings
Make some copies as you can
And round my coffin lay
To bless a soul, who knows.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
One of my greatest joy and possession is my piece of writing. Though it may not be of much importance but it will exist even when I am gone.

True, Kingsley, something that is written from the heart will certainly make an impression and will live long after one is gone.
