When I Have Friends Poem by Randy McClave

When I Have Friends

If I have money then I have friends
Them calling me or visiting me never ends,
They check on me to see how I am doing
While at my credit cards they are constantly viewing.
I must say that those friends are very great,
To be with me they don't hesitate.

During the summertime I have more pals
Especially more guys and even gals,
They are either visiting in my pool or on my boat
They scream that they love being my friend, I quote!
And when they are in my pool or on my boat sunning or swimming,
With joy and happiness they are always brimming.

If I have a vehicle I have friends galore
They're always asking me to come to their door,
Then they ask me while i'm out where am I going
Especially when it's cold outside and snowing.
Then they jump in my car as they need to go for a ride,
Then they very happy and warm at my side.

I also have more friends when they have a problem
I always help them to solve them,
And when I go out to get food all alone
They scream they will go with me, even if it's for a scone.
When they are with me they have the largest appetite,
I end up feeding them and their family for the night.

When I am sad and hurt no one is ever there
Then for me they don't worry or even care,
Then when I am depressed and sad with a tear
I then look and I noticed about me that all my friends did disappear.
Sad for me that I have no friends at all,
That is when I'm poor and broke and loneliness on me does call.
