When I Hear Summer Humming In The Air Poem by Mark Heathcote

When I Hear Summer Humming In The Air

When I hear summer humming in the air
I'd -hear doves cooing in an apple tree.
And ladies dancing in white frock dresses
Telling me just how the wind rocks the cradle.

When I hear summer humming in the air
I'd -hear, bees in the breeze.
Strumming a flower, a sultry damask rose.

When I hear summer humming in the air
I am reminded I don't need clothes.
To jump in a lake
And strain my neck looking at a naked silhouette.

When I hear summer humming in the air
I'm on pins for an oppressive kiss.
A touch, oh, so near divine.
Ah, touching -my lips.

When I hear summer humming in the air
I go filly racing in my heart and mind.
Chasing every wonder I can spy in my eye.

When I hear summer humming in the air
I'm thinking beachwear, beachwear,
All the fun of the funfair.
Ooh, and maybe a lover extraordinaire.
