When Is God Not Good? Poem by Colette Dright

When Is God Not Good?

There was an incident where a man and his family escaped a near death experience. A drunk driver was driving on the wrong side of the highway headed straight towards them. The man swerved to avoid the head on collision. As the car drove right past him it ended up crashing into other vehicles killing one man.
The guy posted an emotional video about his near death experience thanking God for sparing him and his family's life and stated how good and amazing God is. In the mist of praising and thanking God, he did give out his condolences to the family of the deceased victim.

However, he begin receiving backlash for being grateful and for saying God is good. People felt like he was being insensitive and inconsiderate of the grieving family. They felt like how could he say God is good by sparing his life when someone else lost their life? The man has since taken down the post. But is it fair? Why should he have to feel bad and be bashed for thanking God and giving God the glory?
How can people be mad or feel some type of way about someone praising God and saying God is good when we all have heard the saying, "God is good, all the time."

Yes, God took one life and He spared another.
The way I see it is, God is still God and God is still good. Whether He spared your life or welcomed someone else into His kingdom, He is still good.
How can you say He's not good when He welcomed your loved one into His kingdom?
Would you rather God welcome them into His kingdom, or the devil welcome them into his?

It's amazing how people feel people belong to them when they don't.
In the Bible in Romans 8 vs 16, it says, "We are children of God."
So if we are children of God and we belong to God, who are we to tell God He can't come get what already belongs to Him? God allows this earth to borrow us, and when someone lets you borrow something, it is not yours to keep.

God took what belonged to Him because that person's assignment was complete here on earth. Now whether it was complete or not to the family was not their say so.

Their loved one finished their work and went home to their heavenly home. Their job was done.
Just like you and me, when we finish our work at our job, what do we do? We go home. The only difference is, we finish our work and go to our earthly home.

The moral of this message is, you can't say God is good all the time and then pick and choose when He is good and when He is not.

When you sick, He good
When you happy, He good
When your relationship end, He good
When you get fired, He good
When you sleep, He good
On the plane, He good
When you get married, He good
When a baby is born, He good
When a love one pass away, He good
In the break room, He good
While grocery shopping, He good
When you don't trust Him, He good
When you ain't got no money, He good
When you get a promotion, He good
When you praise Him, He good…
In the morning, He good
At night, He good…
So when is God not good?
