When 'no Longer' Is Long Enough Poem by Bryan Taplits

When 'no Longer' Is Long Enough

No longer am I a famed swordsman
No longer are my exploits all acclaimed.
No longer am I still such a gallant-
…And isn't it all just a damn shame.
Yes…
No longer am I ever so doughty
Nor knightly and yet with such verve.
No longer are bells chimed and rung-
But tolled-
(I guess it's now what I deserve) .
No longer are my chapters ahead
Now they fall in my wake, to be flung.
But no longer do I care
this promoting all of my wares-
For no longer need I rise with the sun.
Yes, this part's good!
Since, no longer am I anymore gauche-
...but no longer am I anymore young.
