When Love Staggers Away Poem by Bryan Taplits

When Love Staggers Away

Repeatedly, I claw for you
Impatiently, I sigh
But unfortunately, my dearest heart,
You don't know that I'm alive.
I wish my best for you
I hope for your return,
(Over mountain glens and
through rushing streams
I've yearned and yearned again.)
Yes, one day I know you'll see me
In dreams and starlit sighs,
But by then it will be too late, dear one,
For MY love will have lurched bye-bye.
