When Simply Given Poem by Eric Cockrell

When Simply Given

</>
a broken shard of glass
embedded deep,
cutting from within....

fingers burnt by the fire....
the wail of darkness
swelling through the tombs

of the soul...
walking the razor's edge,
and the stink of human flesh.

nothing more immortal,
more infinite, more redeeming...
not even falling stars....

the moment of human life,
in minutes or years;
that only the courage

of revealing oneself can unwrap....
the moment becoming eternity
when simply given!
