When the earth trembles,
a deep voice rises from below,
stone speaks in groans,
the ground shifts, unsure of its own footing.
Mountains shudder like frightened beasts,
rivers churn with sudden urgency,
trees sway in reluctant dance,
roots straining against the pull of chaos.
Time fractures,
a heartbeat slows,
a heartbeat quickens.
In the stillness that follows,
dust settles like forgotten whispers,
and the world, bruised but breathing,
stands once more.
