When This Oversight Is Mentioned Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

When This Oversight Is Mentioned

Sometimes that which to some becomes obvious,
To many taking it for granted stays invisible.
With a pride to defend what others find offensive,
When this oversight is mentioned.

Protests begin with an omitting of common sense.
Meaningless arguments start with no end to them.
And the ones to pay the price with attempts to convince...
There is evidence of ignorance,
Become victims of a truth too many refuse to see.
