When Trump Meets Putin Poem by Mario, Lucien, Rene Odekerken

When Trump Meets Putin

Two mirrors facing each other,
each searching for the bigger reflection.
Handshakes firm, eyes calculating,
smiles that stretch but never soften.

Words spill like a game of chess,
each syllable measured,
each pause a move.
One boasts, the other nods,
both believing they lead.

Behind them, the world watches,
holding its breath,
wondering of power recognizes itself-
or if it simply hungers for more.
