When We Still Love Poem by Linda Barnes

When We Still Love

I want you to know
Everyone wanted me
To close my heart
And set you free

I tried to listen
There was no way
As I hear your voice
My heart betrays

Yet here you are
Showing yourself
Are you a mirage?
No, you exist

I smile to myself
For what I see
Is so real to me
Just not seen by most

Living in my world
You're here today
Sharing our love
Every step we take

As you look at me
Let me feel your touch
It's in the darkness
When we still love
