When You Read This Poem by Not Long Left

When You Read This

Rating: 4.5

i may be sitting in the next room,
fatter, older, wiser slower,
i may be your friend,
or your foundation of angst.
i may be many miles away,
a forgotten face,
a boozed up, broken old man.
a foundation of your mothers bitterness.
i may be a quote on a grace,
a place of visit each year.
i may be anything you want me to be.

but for now
as i write this,
i am a man,
flawed in every human way,
a man who is
writing these words,
in the hope that one day,
far away from now,
you will both know
how much i love (d) you.
