Where Are The Christians Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Where Are The Christians

Where Are The 'Christians'.
Those self righteous quoting scriptures.
Yet allow hunger and homelessness.
Not far from their backyards.

Where are the 'Christians'.
Packed wall to wall shopping in malls.
But too pretentious to drop to their knees.
Pleading to God.
To release them from the hatred and division,
Between themselves to have created.

Where are those 'Christians'.
The ones quicker to pass judgement.
But can not examine their own misdeeds.
Breeding to feed on a feast of bigotry.

Where are they. The 'Christians'.
Those who fear reality to face.
Behind an assortment of masks.
While lieing to deceive.
Right in churches where they pray.
Mostly on Sundays.

Observing to witness these 'Christians' everyday.
Publicly charading their ways in masquerade.
Makes it no mystery why 'Christians' miss,
Truth to live.
And reality ignored to delude it.
