Where Are You? Poem by Jessica Elizondo

Where Are You?

You say I'm not worth it anymore.
And you might be right.
You say you give up.
Well I say I don't care.

Do my tears make you happy?
You say you have it than I do,
and that I don't know what the world is.
But all I want you to do is care,

Care about what I do,
and how I feel.
I have a hard life too,
If only you knew....

If only you knew
the things I've seen, or my darkest secrets.
Take a walk in my shoes
and you'll be begging to go back.

I'm not worth it anymore?
Please. You make me laugh.
Ok, then go,
If you don't want me then go.

I hide it inside,
so no one would see
the painful tears,
that would flood my face.

You want respect?
Well wheres mine?
My pillow is wet,
when I hold as I cry.

Because you won't give me any hugs.
Do you even love me anymore?
Oh, knock it off with the fake appoligies.
I can't take them anymore, because after we still fight.

You give me a dirty look,
I laugh and walk away.
You ywll and scream,
I look into your eyes, which show no emotion.

You continue to yell and scream,
Because I have no effect to your screaming.
Where did the old you go?
Wheres the one who cared?

The one who would care about my life,
and about how I felt.
Where Daddy?
Where did you go?

as we grow older we realize things that were always there but we could never see when we were little. your father has always been the same but now he doesnt hide it. parents always hide their bad side from child. im seen my parents and sister do it. and when they finally think youre old enough to understand, they tell you or dont hide it anymore. maybe thats why growing up is so hard, because no one hides stuff from you anymore. its painful and i can feel your pain by reading this poem. great job and im here for you when you wanna talk. yes im not in the same boat as you, but i bet i can be of help. im here for you and go ahead and let it out. its ok to look sad and act sad when youre sad. its ok to show emotion. im here for you.
