Where The Strongest Does Rule Poem by Francis Duggan

Where The Strongest Does Rule

Not a good Human World for many to live in where the strongest does rule
For many people with power over others in their ways can be cruel
The people who use their power in a fair and compassionate way
Are quite a rare breed in the World of today

That the lust for power is a human weakness is not a lie
And due to people of power many suffer and die
War leaders who order the bombing of heavily populated civilian areas are of criminal mind
To the suffering of the innocent such people are blind

It is people who abuse their power create many a refugee
Civilians from war zones who are forced to flee
The victorious war leaders the patriots celebrate
Though for their glory death and suffering they did create

In many a Country in the World of today
Some with power abuse their privilege in some way
The strongest who rule and lack in empathy
They are of the dark side of humanity.
