Where True Beauty Lies Poem by Hannah Diane Williams

Where True Beauty Lies

Rating: 5.0

Facing the mirror,
All you can see
Are an ugly face,
Crooked lies,
Beaten down scars,
Broken hearts,

It's like you're
Never good enough,
Always last picked,
Not the one you
Think they want....

Always concerned
Of what others think,
Never stopping to wander
If this is all there is,
Never stopping to wander
If he's really worth it...

Well, I have to tell you something..
A secret a girls should know,
True beauty doesn't lie
In the mirror
Or what others think...

True beauty lies
On the inside,
The inside of you...

And I wrote this poem
To let you know
That you,
Yes, you
Are beautiful.

A powerful and sound advice, very well written poem. I like the flow of your verse, the smooth flow of words. Thank you for sharing. Do not look at your face, look deep into your eyes, see what is kept in your soul.
