Who Could Sing Happy Songs? Poem by Afzal Shauq

Who Could Sing Happy Songs?

Rating: 4.3

Who could sing happy songs…

Children at play
future their hopes
merely moments
all illusions

Who could sing happy songs…

Cooks can create
wonderful dishes
never to taste
bitter poison

Who could sing happy songs…

Bride of time past
beautiful spring
keeps on crying
lonely widow

Who could sing happy songs…

The seasons changing
always moving
peace prosperity
a question mark

I like the refrain. Somehow it sticks in the mind. It's a different way of writing, very creative.
