Happy Thanksgiving!

Some may ask, 'Why Happy Thanksgiving? ' Let us pause to remember,
some reasons we observe this fourth Thursday in November.

Pilgrims and American Indians, from history we should know,
gave to us the first Thanksgiving observed so long ago.

They thanked the most gracious God for their lives He had spared,
then with multicolored hands, they gave thanks for blessings shared.

The early pioneers kept the tradition while settling this great land,
for they knew full well the gifts received came to them from God's hand.

Throughout the years Americans have carried on this celebration,
Remembering to give thanks to God for His blessings on this nation.

Let us now promote gratitude as observed down through the years.
Let us praise our great God and let thankfulness replace our fears.

Why, 'Happy Thanksgiving? ' Because it is the right thing to do.
Not just one day, but every day, God should be praised by me and you.
