Why I Don't Go Dark Poem by Bill Cantrell

Why I Don't Go Dark

There is a dark side of the pen
I know it very well
It's ink can change from bad to worse,
so incredibly easy to distinguish its smell
Too easy to pen dark poetry,
and not without reason the light hates the dark
Sensing blood in the water,
It pens it's poetry with a fin of a shark
Your pen is getting excited
This is what they call the thrill of the kill
Dungeons and dragons and the touch of cold steel
You can pen forever and not get your fill
I for my part, pitch my tent in the light,
never to bow to the snare of that pen
Yes, there is a dark side in every poet
Take my advice and keep it locked in.
