Why moi, Hébert Logerie, write, my friends? Why? Why?
Because I care a great deal and I love the world
I write for the weak, the poor, the sick, the fighter
And the rich. I write to inspire people, to give them
Hope, to defend them when they are right
And when they're wrong, I seek a second
Chance for them; nobody is perfect
If you speak another language or dialect
Please translate my poems into your native
Tongue. I write to make you smile, especially
With my crazy rhymes. I love everybody
I love all kinds of people and all kinds
Of languages. Speak to me in French
Parlez avec moi en Français, speak me to
In Spanish, habla conmigo en español
Speak to me in German, sprich mit mir
Aauf Deutsch, speak to me in Italian
Parlami in Italiano, speak to me in Swahili
Nena na mimi kwa Kiswahili, speak to me in
Haitian Creole, pale ak mwen an Kreyòl Ayisyen
Etc. You get the picture. I want the world
To understand the message, what I am saying
You can translate my poems into your native
Tongue. I will be honored and grateful. That will be
Awesome. I write to entertain you, to make you conscious
Of your environment, and to share my thoughts with you
Great poets are never selfish, they all want a better
World, a better climate. They want peace. They talk about
Love, hope, friendship, family, bridge, alliance and fun
Now you know why I write. It is up to you to do your part
And please do not break my heart.
