Why I Love Him Poem by Lora Colon

Why I Love Him

Rating: 5.0

He navigates the deep, dark rivers
Of my stormy soul;
When I'm headed down a ruinous path,
He steps in and takes control

He carries me on his wings of calm
Down the treacherous cliff;
He's my light, guiding me safely in
When storms threaten my fragile skiff

He knows my thoughts before I do,
He has learned to forge the keys
That fit into my murky mind,
Unlocking all its mysteries

When the vessel of hope is nearly drained,
He's right there to fill it again;
And when I'm restless, he soothes me with
Loving words from the poet's pen

As I place these laurels upon his head,
And I'm mesmerized by his charms,
We kiss, and I surrender once more
To the fortress of his arms
