Why Is America Going In The Wrong Direction

Why is America going in the wrong direction?
The nation once a beacon, now feels askew.
Divisions deepen, unity's reflection,
With wounds unhealed, our empathy is few.

Politics infused with venomous sway,
Drowning truth in waves of deceit and lies.
Injustice thrives, fueled by greed's relentless play,
Equality wanes as hope slowly dies.

Education, ailing, in dire need of aid,
Science and reason disregarded, tossed aside.
Environmental concerns, we've often delayed,
As progress falters, dreams are shattered and denied.

Yet, in these troubled times, let's not lose sight,
That change can come, rekindling our nation's good night.
