Why Is It Always This Way Poem by Francis Duggan

Why Is It Always This Way

With many of us human beings why is it always this way
That we do worry of us what others does say
Though we harm nobody or are not guilty of any crime
On trying to impress others we spend so much of our time
We allow judgmental people our lives to control
And on so doing we play the subordinate role
Those who do their own thing I can only admire
For to kowtow to the judgmental they feel no desire
Why look up to those who does look down on you
It is not their business with what your life you do
Judgmental people we partly have to thank
For these negative things known as class distinction and social rank
Since you never harm anyone in any way
Why do you worry what others of you does say.
