Wild Cats In Midnight Poem by Kinyua Karanja

Wild Cats In Midnight

Resting on my bed around midnight
With all lights off and everybody asleep
And I too believe I have an equal right
Of quiet and peaceful meditation.

Some crazy wild cats infringe on my right
As I edit one of my little poem of right
In house full of darkness, only phone light
In of one of most restless windy night.

Though I find cursing entirely profane
A thing I fight myself to refrain
And learn utter futility of human endeavor
To keep his tongue and mind on laws favour.

I curse and spring to get a machete
In annoyance and hysterical rage
Only for them to fade in the dark and flee
And finally peace as age comes with sage.
