I messed with the wrong guy
And from that I learnt my lesson,
I got knowledge I couldn’t buy.
We quarreled and my anger turned on
Through this blunder I picked a fight,
I yearned to go hand to hand.
But I now realize this wasn’t right.
It was a challenge I couldn’t stand.
Determined at all cost to win
I lost and he said ‘nothing personal'
I played poker which is a sin.
My opponent was gentle and emotional,
While is aggressive and cold,
He fought to make peace,
I fought victory to hold,
To me he was cool and nice.
I had hatred, he had love
By this I suffered a defeat.
Inside the ring I was above,
In my heart I lost.
It was a serious mistake
And I have nothing to boast.
I learnt, even if I could fake,
A real man provokes no fight.
I love the rhymes and singing rhythm of your poem! Wonderful!
