Wild-West And Tight

They didn't know or care
when they dumped in their own backyards
and the backyards of business premises
that they were bequeathing centuries of gases.

We know when we do it now
that we might be bequeathing,
and hope we're doing it less,
despite money and cowboys.

We hope we're not tight
or governed by cowboys.

But when we get lies, cover-up and downplay,
and talk of dumping nuclear waste,
we know the wild-west and tight
won't give up without a fight.
