Will Smith Slap At Oscar- As Courageous As His Movies Poem by Bernedita Rosinha Pinto

Will Smith Slap At Oscar- As Courageous As His Movies

Every man is born with his honor
and lives with his honor
and dies by his honor.
When someone achieves so much greatness
in his life and time
others should not belittle or mock such man
when they get him in a public place
as no one has a right or privilege
to jeer at others so freely.

As an actor and achiever
your prompt reaction to depict resentment
was the most natural reflex;
it was a show of bravery
just like you do in your movies;
you are more than a movie star
as your indomitable courage to return back
the same quantum of humiliation
on the stage was truly well deserving
as man who comes in this world,
and works his way up
should not to be brought down
by some laughter and unpleasant jokes
made for pleasure and public amusement.

It is the courage you showed
It is your reflex that spoke;
in that moment you truly served justice to yourself.
Yes, when someone plays with another's repute
when someone mocks at another,
one doesn't have to take it lying down.

It was not at all unfair to react the way you did
it was more than love that you went ahead
and did what you felt was right;
in that moment of indignation
your courage responded intuitively
for when someone makes a mockery
before a huge audience,
that somebody deserves a parody back
even if it makes people turn their eyes around
in bewilderment to watch watch such backlash
as no one in the future must repeat
words of humiliation
in their satire or in their outspokenness
as every word has its own worth;
and every word is also sometimes like a sword
with a sharp edge
that can cut some one's good reputation
and this is what the other should remember
that respect and dignity
is not a toy to juggle around.

So have no regret,
save your tears,
save them for better reasons.
