Window Gazing Poem by Parivallal Swamy

Window Gazing

Rating: 5.0

Never ask for an exchange,
Especially when it comes to a window seat,
Indirectly, it is an exchange for my world,
A world only few can see, whose vision are limitless….

I threw my heart out at all the places I saw,
Some are poetic, the mystic fields lying near mountains,
While some, plaintive like a simple small town market,
In them my heart reached out unbiased….

A lonely house in the middle of lush green,
I lived an eternity in that very place,
Spending the day on farming, moon watching the night,
But all these in a flash, when our bus pass by….

The sight of that boy herding them sheeps,
I was walking there right side by him,
Holding on to a staff, while listening to that old classic song,
It all happened when I was window gazing once in a train….

I'm that little child the mother tries to catch,
I'm that young lad, who stares at the bus in awe,
I'm that old lady, who dims down the night lamp of a lonely house,
Oh! What forms I assume, as I tried to betray time….

All these places that caught my attention,
Every single one of them has become my home,
All these people who live their simple life,
Have become my neighbours, in my spirit….

Whether these places are as gifted as I perceive,
And my spiritual neighbours enjoy their routine?
I simply cannot answer for them, I'm just a window gazer,
As long as I'm on travel, I recognise the world I see as I want it to be, a perfect place….

I begin to wonder of this strange habit,
Am I the discoverer? Am I the only one or one in few?
Well I never mind to think further,
As long as I threw my heart out through a window….

What powers our little mind possess?
Oh! What transformations it made to this dark planet,
A mind too powerful either to sustain it,
Or to take it back to the dark ages….

Not dwelling too much in to the future,
I turned my eyes towards the window again,
So never ask for an exchange of a window seat,
To a world, only few can see, whose vision are artistically crazy….
