Winter Poem by Elizabeth Jackson

Winter

Gray sky,
Quiet birds,
Hearts die,
Hateful words.

Winter comes,
Bringing snow,
Ringing drums,
Hatred grows.

But I see light,
And growing green grass,
The end of the fight,
And Spring at last.
