Winter Poem by Muzahidul Reza

Winter

Rating: 5.0

In winter cold and chill winds blow
Everywhere bearing mist, fog, frost and snow
To grasp the whole soft earth
To make barren, sterile, fruitless hard;

Winter affects on the environment much
It becomes gloomy, dull and bears nothing
So to save from severe cold it starts praying
Soon in spring it is given back all the charming;

Animals, birds do suffer much
For want of food and other things
They cannot feel comfort
They pray for spring to have normal life;

Losing leaves trees become deadly and barren
So pray for leaves on the branches again
Soon in spring the leaves are sprouted
They bear flowers and fruits;

Humans are always compared to trees
But like trees in winter what do they lose?
For what do they say prayer? Nothing!
In enjoying themselves only seen;

They want winter all the year round
To sit by fire with good food and staff
And gossip how to make wintry bed
To hide themselves in the warmth of it.
