Winter
Shakil Ahmed
With the advent of chilling winter
Mind floats in rapture
Like dancing waves of winding river
When rustling leaves fall in agape
Denuding trees like bride of marriage beds
Weeping eyes of naked wood
Fill with drops of oozing tears
When rhythmic drops of winter's fog
Fall in never-ending delight
Breaking the shades of nebulous night
Opal eyes of luscious girl
Beam like rays of tender moon
When whispering air blows in morn
After the end of late night buzz
Shivering bosom of teenager girl
Magical rays of tender sun
Remove the biting chill of dreaming earth
When winter sobs in freezing cold
Like a bereft lover of alien land
Slowly and silently spring comes
With its garland of fragrant flowers
Melodious songs of joyous bird
Lull the winter to a soothing sleep
For dreaming fantasies during days ahead
Winter is a season of dream and wish
Lovers enjoy it's charm and relish
Winter departs teaching a lesson of life
Everything is fleeting in this banal world
May be happiness or sorrow
Bound to wan in the womb of tomorrow
