Wisdom Poem by Kishore Kumar Das

Wisdom

Rating: 4.0

As I plucked
a tender jackfruit
to prepare a delicious recipe
I found:
milk oozing out from the cutting point
on and on...non-stop
oh..what a pitiable sight
like denying milk to the newborn baby
may not be a crime
but still, an eyebrow raiser
vegetarianism also
amounts to kill...
how much sacrifice
made by nature
for our survival
let this give birth to
wisdom
for the welfare of this earth.

Milk oozing out of a cut of tender jackfruit- -like denying milk to a newborn baby- -vegetarianism also kills- - your words are wisdom- - - In some way we are hurting other living beings- animal or plants- for our survival. It is the law of nature. When we kill an animal, its pain is more visible, plants can not cry and so we do not feel much. Thanks for sharing this lovely poem.
