Wish(Recast) Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

Wish(Recast)

Rating: 2.5

It will be so much of misery
If I should die later lonely
For you would have gone then
Miles and miles away to a place unknown
But I will not sit still
I would have raided then heaven and hell
To find the place where it lies
But if I fail what will happen to our ties
Menacing though it may look even
Still miles I will go and cease the place within
Wherein runs a little brook
Cherished dews by dews from heart's nook
That quenches my love's thirst in riches
No frost can ever reach its sashes
Nor drought dry its passage
For it is spring and spring always
But amid such reflection
There you seem but an illusion
For where is that close and intimate association
That I had before known
Only a cloud hanging over the heart
To eclipse my joy you to reconnect
And I see time drifting away
And you are nowhere close-by
But it will be so much of luxury
If I should die not later seeing you eternally
For my heart will be ripe and full then
Not keeping its possessor from any famine
That love be stricken with
For your sweet countenance would have brought solace and mirth
You are the joy of living
The morning and the evening
The sun and the moon
And star of my little sky upon
I gaze and gaze till
Love of my life is merged with my soul
Dear I am a poor man
A thing of luxury to me is like a heaven
Unless privileged and blessed
It is hard to find
But the contentment to me seems more than gold
That in dyeing before shall I find

Relationship between a husband and his wife is considered eternal as per our cultural beliefs and you have nicely brought to fore its emotional side in this poem. A fine treat to the heart and soul. Thanks. You are the joy of living / The morning and the evening The sun and the moon / And star of my little sky upon
