With A Pride And Interest Given Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

With A Pride And Interest Given

A child to nourish,
Is no different than a flower...
Protected from weeds,
To ensure it grows to full bloom.
With a pride and interest given.

Yet too many who do plant seeds,
Believe that's all they have to do...
To delude themselves with expectations,
What they plant should be left...
For someone else to protect it from neglect.
