Ever since You, Shyam, entered my life,
I have forgotten all my poetry;
What verses could I possibly pen,
When You Yourself are the very source of poetry?
Poems flow forth from You,
Only to dissolve back into Your heart;
You drew me here to Braj,
To witness all these divine pastimes.
Had I not come to the lanes of Shyam,
How could I have become a devotee of His divine love?
You who brought me to Braj—
Be the guiding helm of my life.
Ferry me across the ocean of worldly existence,
And fulfill the deepest longing of my life.
