Without A Solicited Opinion Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Without A Solicited Opinion

Moving forward.
Is a courageous undertaking.
Easier said than actually done.
As one confronts the unknown to challenge.
With faith to keep and belief in oneself.
Without a solicited opinion to rely upon.
This can be likened to someone,
Jumping into the Grand Canyon.
Carrying and not strapped to a parachute.
If one decides to use it.

Moving forward to leave behind,
One's own known comfort zone.
With a plan but no guarantee.
As to what the future holds.
Or the prospects of an outcome.
Is not easy.
Or should it be for one determined.
And equipped with faith.
To eventually come to appreciate,
Heartbreaks, disappointments.
And nagging doubts.
To look back upon the sacrifice it takes,
Discovering one's own happiness.
And the knowing it found.
Not to be indebted to anyone giving advice.
Or a massaging of an ego.
No one near volunteered to give.
