Without Pretending Pretentiousness Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Without Pretending Pretentiousness

Shameless demonic statements made,
Heard not once.
But repeatedly given support,
From those who feel themselves represented.
By the one they have chosen.
To present their interests,
Better than anyone else to expect.
Should not upset,
Those pretending they disapprove.
When with a consciousness,
They selected and picked...
The one unafraid to dare to say,
Exactly what is on their minds.
And...
Publicly.

Without pretending a pretentiousness.
Kept to whisper from ear to ear,
To pass on.
As if the doing,
Should be left to keep as a secret!
And these perceived kept secrets,
Are everywhere openly displayed.
Regardless if such words heard,
To express from pulpits or podiums...
Many find obnoxious and despicable.
Yet will applaud and cheer,
How disrespectfully what they hear..
Has been delivered!
