Woe Betide The Unwary Poem by Sofia Kioroglou

Woe Betide The Unwary

Rating: 5.0

Woe betide the unwary
engulfed in worldly pleasures
Accustomed to seeking the material well-being
For if we had been blind
we would have had no sin.

Woe betide the complacent
basking in evanescent earthly delights
Thereby adorning ourselves with a millstone
instead of raiment white as snow
reflecting the effulgence of God's glory

I like it. I think of Eden's apple, desire and wanting and greed. Humans are never satisfied and yet we give lip service to the notion that the simple things are the best. Nice work!

Thank you so much Barry and God bless you. This poem really resonates with me. I give my battles to become humble and unassuming every day. Be humble and you will be blessed... I live by this motto. Have a most beautiful day and be blessed

Worldly pleasures lead us off the works of the truth. Nice piece of work.
