Womens History - Poem by Sarah Marie

We were 2nd class
Are existence was limited
We had the rights of a child
No even being able to own our own property

We had to be obedient
Controlled like dogs
We never had thoughts or opinions
Aloud to be told

Having the thought now
To not have a say in this world
Having a choice!
What could we do?

We were smart
But we were not aloud o have a serious education
For it could danger us.
But look how we turned out!

We were rocks
Not making a difference
Just being there to hold the children
Was that where we belonged in life?

Are inferiority to men
Was reinforced by organized religion
Preached strict
And well defined sex roles!

Is that all we are?
Sex idols.
Just dolls men can stare at
And toss around?

We are strong
And can make a difference
We can change this world

And we did.

We showed our men
They need us
That we are just alike
We are he same, but in different bodies

Men avoided the fact
That they were going against our
Declaration of independence
That we have equality

So let our women stand
Show the world our intellect
Show that this world can be different
If we stand

And show our independence and equality! ! !
