Wonder Why I Was Made At All Poem by Mark Heathcote

Wonder Why I Was Made At All

When these morning bars of light
Fell on your face, I fell in love
A prisoner beneath the waves in the shadows
Where the rain dripped through the clouds
Oh, I fell in love like a glove without a hand
Only to fall, wonder why I was made at all.
Should I cry in my cage?
It might all turn into a rage
So I imagine you, as already mine
And praise everything, everything that is divine.
Thoughtlessly overshadowed all the time, I close my eyes.
And through the drapery, you come.
And I find-to-my-surprise, I'm still delightfully hypnotised.
