Wondering

I sit in silence
as another month
draws to a close
wondering what the new month
is going to bring.
Slowly the year
is gradually slipping away;
soon it will be Christmas
and New Years day.
I will then sit in silence
wondering where the year has gone
and ponder
what the New Year will bring.
