Word-Of-Water Poem by Mark Heathcote

Word-Of-Water

Word-of-water
leaf and stem
river and flower
the charcoal of men.

Smooth like pebbles
in a pattern of stone
granite and marble
muscle and bone.

Steel and fire
ice and rain
carved in history
again and again,

In word-of-water
leaf and stem
river and flower
the charcoal of men.
